CandleHealth

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about how CandleHealth works. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp.

Is CandleHealth available in my village?

CandleHealth is built to serve every community across India, not one city or state — we're growing community by community. Coverage depends on having a verified Care Sathi, doctor, or partner pharmacy near you — message us on WhatsApp with your area and we'll tell you what's available.

How much does a consultation cost?

Consultation fees are set by each verified doctor and shown upfront before you book — there's no hidden markup. Because CandleHealth coordinates the visit instead of routing through a clinic, a consultation typically costs less than the trip to get to one.

Are the doctors on CandleHealth verified?

Yes. Every doctor is a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) whose registration number is checked against the state medical council before their profile goes live, and every clinical decision is made by that RMP — never by AI.

What is a Care Sathi?

An ANM/GNM-qualified local health worker who does structured pre-consultation screening, helps you use the app or video call, and hands you off to a doctor or Ayurveda practitioner — someone from your own community, never making a diagnosis or triage decision alone.

Is my health data safe with CandleHealth?

Yes. We collect only what's needed to coordinate your care, access to your health information is restricted and logged, and we're compliant with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How does OTP delivery work?

When your medicine order arrives, the delivery partner asks for a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered phone before handing it over. This confirms the delivery reaches the right person.

What does RMP mean?

RMP stands for Registered Medical Practitioner — a doctor licensed and registered under Indian medical council regulations. Every consultation on CandleHealth is reviewed and decided by an RMP, in line with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020.

How does pricing work?

When you compare pharmacies after uploading a prescription, we show real prices from verified partner pharmacies for both generic and branded medicines, so you can see the difference and choose. We don't have exclusive tie-ups with any pharmacy.

What happens in a medical emergency?

Call 108 first — CandleHealth helps coordinate care, but we never replace emergency services. The in-app SOS button can show nearby verified hospitals, but it does not replace calling 108 directly.
