Why We're Building CandleHealth
Two years ago, I watched a family member spend an entire day going from clinic to lab to pharmacy — just to get one prescription filled correctly.
No one told them the medicine was available cheaper two shops away. No one told them the report they were carrying needed to go to a specialist, not a GP. No one coordinated any of it. They just figured it out — like every Indian family does.
That day is the reason CandleHealth exists.
We're not building another app to book a doctor's appointment. We're building the coordination layer Indian healthcare has never had — where your doctor, your pharmacy, your lab, and your home-care all talk to each other, so you don't have to be the one holding it all together.
I'm a solo founder building this bootstrapped, with one clinical/technical co-founder by my side. Every clinical decision on our platform is approved by a licensed doctor or pharmacist — not automated, not assumed. Automation only handles the logistics: the waiting, the confusion, the running around. Never the medicine.
We're early. But this is the honest start of something I think Indian healthcare genuinely needs — care that's Right, in every sense: Right Care, Right Time, Right Place, Right Cost.
If you've ever had a healthcare experience like this — confusing, uncoordinated, exhausting — I'd love to hear about it. What's the one part of the system that broke down for you?
